Business Development Representative (BDR)

Role Overview
The Business Development Representative will provide key sales support and drive market development for Platned. The successful candidate will demonstrate the knowledge and confidence required to position Platned as a preferred Business Solution Supplier for both prospective and existing customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of new prospects within the assigned territory.
- Establish and maintain contact (primarily via telephone) with early stage prospects until they are handed over to the Sales Manager.
- Navigate through gatekeepers to reach relevant decision-makers within prospective organisations.
- Act as the first point of contact for all new leads generated by Marketing.
- Build and maintain relationships with prospects throughout the lead development process.
- Engage prospects through a high volume of outbound communication to qualify sales opportunities.
- Convert prospect leads into a strong sales pipeline.
- Maintain accurate records of all interactions and update prospect status within the CRM system.
- Ask open-ended questions to understand needs and effectively qualify prospects.
- Maintain relationships with a defined group of target accounts.
- Collaborate regularly with Sales Representatives to review target accounts and adjust strategies as needed.
- Execute targeted micro-campaigns within the assigned territory to generate additional demand.
- Communicate internally on the status of all pending and warm leads.
- Maintain and effectively utilise the CRM database (Pipedrive).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Previous experience in an early-stage business development role.
- Proven experience in software telemarketing, inside sales, or enterprise software sales.
- Knowledge of IFS Applications or similar ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, etc., would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision (this will be a remote role).
- A natural curiosity and willingness to learn, with the ability to develop a strong understanding of IFS and its applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly strong telephone communication skills in English.
- Experience with CRM tools, as well as Microsoft Excel and Word.
