Platned recently joined hands with the IFS Foundation in a transformative initiative to support education and digital empowerment in Sri Lanka. As part of this effort, a groundbreaking ceremony was held at Weralugahamula School to launch the construction of a state-of-the-art computer lab. This initiative, funded by The Hg Foundation, aims to provide students, teachers, and parents with better access to technology, fostering digital literacy and future career opportunities.
Representing Platned at the event, Chief Operating Officer Saminda Gunawardana and Country Head Pubudu Liyanage reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting projects that drive education and community development. “Platned is honoured to be part of this initiative, which highlights the IFS Foundation’s dedication to uplifting rural communities and contributing to national progress,” said Saminda.
Education remains a key pillar in building a thriving society, and initiatives like these help bridge the digital divide in rural areas. By providing access to essential technology and digital learning resources, this computer lab will serve as a hub for knowledge-sharing, skill development, and innovation. Platned is proud to stand alongside the IFS Foundation in making a meaningful impact on students and their futures.
As the project moves forward, Platned looks forward to continuing its efforts to support similar initiatives that drive positive change, strengthen communities, and open doors to new opportunities for the next generation.
