Culligan Middle East has enhanced its operational efficiency by partnering with Platned to implement the IFS WADACO Warehouse Management solution. The 11-month project replaced manual data entry across two Dubai warehouses with a barcode-based, real-time tracking system: saving over 150 hours each month and significantly improving accuracy.
Part of the global Culligan brand, the Middle East operation serves the UAE and Qatar, with a major facility in Dubai for equipment fabrication, chemical blending, and water bottling. Despite using IFS Applications 10, warehouse staff had still been recording data manually, causing inventory inaccuracies and reconciliation issues.
Seeking to modernise its processes, Culligan selected IFS WADACO for its integration capabilities and real-time features. Following a competitive RFP, Platned was chosen for its experience, flexible hybrid delivery model, and competitive pricing. Consultants supported critical stages on-site while managing the remainder remotely, ensuring minimal disruption.
Since the January 2025 go-live, warehouse staff now use barcode scanners for core activities like receiving, picking, and stock counting. Inventory is now stored in designated bays and tracked in real time, with batch and serial tracking boosting traceability and quality control. Export processes have also been streamlined, eliminating manual spreadsheet use.
“This project helped us rethink how we work,” said Prathibha Gamage, IT Manager at Culligan Middle East. “We moved from habit to best practice, and the results speak for themselves.”Following this success, Culligan launched IFS Mobile Work Order in March 2025 with Platned’s support. It now helps the Food Service division manage van stock and mobile reporting for 20 engineers. The company also plans to adopt the IFS Rental module soon.
