Systems Engineer (US Shift-Remote)

Role Overview

We are seeking an individual with strong Windows Server, Office 365, and end-user support skills for the role of System Engineer to join our dynamic technical team in Sri Lanka. This role involves providing infrastructure support and systems administration services across network and server-related technologies. The selected candidate will be required to work remotely during US business hours. The ideal candidate should be eager to learn, adaptable, and a strong team player who enjoys working in the IT services industry.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, including Windows Server 2012 R2 and later versions.
• Administer and support core Windows Server services to ensure optimal system performance.
• Collaborate with internal application teams to troubleshoot and resolve system and application related issues.
• Support and manage virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V.
• Design, deploy, and manage Windows Server systems.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform necessary upgrades.
• Implement and maintain security measures for Windows Environments.
• Automate system processes using scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell, Bash).
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including architecture diagrams and operational procedures.
• Solid foundation in networking troubleshooting (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPNs)
• Strong hands‑on experience with:(Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, Azure AD)
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve system performance and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in system engineering with a strong focus on Windows.
• In-depth knowledge of Windows Server (Active Directory, IIS, etc.)
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to work in the US time zone.
• Relevant certifications (e.g. Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator) are a plus.
