Mannar, Sri Lanka – On the 10th of July, 2023, Platned, a leading ERP solutions provider, launched its first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project for 2023, #Caring❤LastingImpact. The project was coordinated by our team in Sri Lanka. The project aims to make a positive and lasting difference on the lives of underprivileged communities. The initiative focused on Thambapanni Sinhala Maha Vidyalaya, a school located in Mannar, Sri Lanka.

This area had suffered from a lack of good education facilities for families recently resettled in the area. The school was constructed from a generous donation from the Sisu Sevana organisation of Rupees 4 million (USD 13,000). Presently, the school accommodates 26 students and 9 teachers who despite significant economic hardships, strives to provide valuable education for the community.

Recognizing the dire situation the school was in and the pressing need for help, the Platned team paid a visit in July 2023 During the visit, our team made significant contributions to enhance the learning environment for the students and support the dedicated faculty members. Platned generously donated stationary supplies, laboratory equipment, other essential items, plus dry rations for both students and teachers. Additionally, our team renovated the restrooms, improving the facilities for all.

The journey to Northern Sri Lanka undertaken by the Platned team is just the start of a series of activities as part of the CSR programme. Its aims are to bring joy and hope to the lives of underprivileged children. Witnessing the extraordinary efforts of the school principal, the village temple’s monks, and the local community in sustaining the school despite numerous challenges, deeply touched the hearts of the Platned representatives.

The senior management of Platned played an instrumental role in supporting this impactful endeavour, demonstrating their dedication to corporate social responsibility. Our Welfare team, through their tireless efforts, played a crucial role in executing the project and its success. Expressing their gratitude, employees thanked them for actively supporting this initiative. Their combined efforts have made a significant difference in the lives of the students at Thambapanni Sinhala Maha Vidyalaya, providing them with newfound hope and a brighter future.
