In his new role as Global Support Director, Aslam will take responsibility for overseeing Platned’s customer support teams worldwide, ensuring the delivery of the highest level of service and assistance to valued customers. Collaborating closely with regional teams, he will build on the work already in progress to streamline processes, and devise innovative strategies to elevate the overall support experience.
With over 12 years of experience in the software industry, Aslam Ameer boasts a strong focus on customer success and support. He is an expert in technical development and configuration in IFS applications, covering versions from 2003 to IFS Cloud. Ameer’s exemplary leadership skills have consistently driven improvements in customer satisfaction scores across multiple regions. Colleagues and customers alike admire his passion for delivering exceptional service and his ability to motivate and inspire his team.

As Global Support Director, Ravindra will lead Platned’s customer support teams worldwide, ensuring the delivery of best-in-class service and assistance to our valued customers. Working closely with regional teams, he will streamline processes, implement best practices, and devise innovative strategies to elevate the overall support experience.

Ravindra started his career path in accountancy, but in 2006 his career path took a transformative turn when he joined IFS Sri Lanka as an Application Consultant in the Distribution area which was his first steps in the ERP world. He worked for over 13 years in IFS Sri Lanka, expanding his knowledge and expertise within different departments.
His journey began in the IFS R&D team, familiarizing himself with the intricacies of the ERP Application, setting the foundation for his career growth. His path then led him to the Scandinavian consulting team, where he spent 7 years refining his skills as a consultant. These years were invaluable, as they provided him with a diverse range of challenges and opportunities to learn and adapt. He developed into a more versatile and resourceful consultant, ready to tackle any project that came his way. In 2014, he took on a pivotal role in the IFS Extended Support Team, marking a turning point in his career. Here, he found himself surrounded by an incredible team, all dedicated to providing top-notch support and managed services. It was during this period that he truly felt his abilities as a leader come to fruition.
When ending his career at IFS as a Principal Business Systems Analyst and a Team Leader, he took on responsibilities that further honed his leadership skills and nurtured his passion for excellence.
“Throughout my time before Platned, I was blessed to encounter supportive leaders who recognized my potential and encouraged me to embrace it. I owe a great deal of my success to Maryam Marrikkar, Vemindra Sangakkara, Sujeewa Dharmawardena, Sandamali Handalage, Pujitha Illukkumbura, and Chamath Abeygunawardena who have been truly remarkable influences on my journey.” Ravindra said.
Ravindra’s journey took a major turn when he joined Platned, and the last three years have been nothing short of remarkable. This period required the culmination of all the skills and knowledge acquired throughout his career, and the environment at Platned provided the perfect platform for his growth.
“As I look back on my journey, I realize that the key to my success has been a combination of experience, passion for quality, and an open approach to learning and growth. The support of my teams, colleagues, mentors, and remarkable leaders has been the driving force behind my rapid progression from Senior ERP Consultant to Global Support Director. I take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to the leadership team at Platned. Their belief in my potential, continuous training, and unwavering support allowed me to flourish. I am incredibly proud and privileged to work under the guidance of CEO Chamara Arunoda, CTO Harsha Yapa, COO Saminda Gunawardena, and CCO Pragash Somasundaram.

Take some exercise and at the same time raise funds for a really good cause!

Get involved in this fundraising event and help to break the poverty cycle in Sri Lanka. Invite your friends, family, partners, customers, any everyone you know.
Platned would like to invite you to take part in our annual charity run or if you prefer ‘walk’ between 30th July – 1st August 2023. Get outside, experience nature, smell the fresh air and listen to the birds and the other wildlife, turn your phone off and try to stay ‘disconnected’ for this activity.
As we are all becoming increasingly aware, the beauty and benefit of regular exercise to our mental health and wellbeing cannot be overstated. This is an opportunity for all Platned employees to take time out of their busy days to personally experience that benefit by completing a distance of 5km either by walking or running. The hope is that by completing this and raising funds for the IFS Foundation we can bring smiles to the faces of many disadvantaged groups in Sri Lanka.
Don’t worry if you are not currently ‘fit’ enough to run the whole distance and please do not undertake excessive exercise if your medical practitioner would suggest otherwise, we will be happy for you to walk slowly over the 3 days to cover the suggested distance. You will need to download an app and register so we can raise as much money as possible.
There are three overarching aims of this program, Health, Education and Poverty – as we know these items are inextricably linked, whether its providing health camps for school students, delivering sexual education to our young people or providing the means to derive an income through home working . The aims of the IFS Foundation are well documented and supported by Platned directors and staff.
If we identify health issues early then we stand more of a chance in providing good quality outcomes, health camps intend to do that, focusing specifically on chronic kidney, eye and dental care. Within certain groups, suicide prevention is becoming an increasingly urgent focus and the increasing importance of exercise to mental health wellbeing in helping to address this issue is well understood, but needs to be more widely promoted. This program will do that.
Lack of access to high quality education especially amongst young girls around the topic of sexual and reproductive health is just one important area where we must do better, if we want to break that cycle. “Educated girls have fewer, healthier, and better-educated children,” according to the Global Partnership for Education. Countries invest in girls’ education, see an increase in female leaders, lower levels of population growth, and a reduction of contributions to climate change. Further education promotes economic growth because it provides the skills that increase employment opportunities and income.
Which brings us nicely to the final aim – poverty reduction, just one way the IFS Foundation is delivering on this is by providing items for example sewing machines to help provide a secondary income for home workers.

Platned Initiates #Caring❤LastingImpact CSR Project in Mannar, Sri Lanka

Mannar, Sri Lanka – On the 10th of July, 2023, Platned, a leading ERP solutions provider, launched its first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project for 2023, #Caring❤LastingImpact. The project was coordinated by our team in Sri Lanka. The project aims to make a positive and lasting difference on the lives of underprivileged communities. The initiative focused on Thambapanni Sinhala Maha Vidyalaya, a school located in Mannar, Sri Lanka.
This area had suffered from a lack of good education facilities for families recently resettled in the area. The school was constructed from a generous donation from the Sisu Sevana organisation of Rupees 4 million (USD 13,000). Presently, the school accommodates 26 students and 9 teachers who despite significant economic hardships, strives to provide valuable education for the community.
Recognizing the dire situation the school was in and the pressing need for help, the Platned team paid a visit in July 2023 During the visit, our team made significant contributions to enhance the learning environment for the students and support the dedicated faculty members. Platned generously donated stationary supplies, laboratory equipment, other essential items, plus dry rations for both students and teachers. Additionally, our team renovated the restrooms, improving the facilities for all.
The journey to Northern Sri Lanka undertaken by the Platned team is just the start of a series of activities as part of the CSR programme. Its aims are to bring joy and hope to the lives of underprivileged children. Witnessing the extraordinary efforts of the school principal, the village temple’s monks, and the local community in sustaining the school despite numerous challenges, deeply touched the hearts of the Platned representatives.
The senior management of Platned played an instrumental role in supporting this impactful endeavour, demonstrating their dedication to corporate social responsibility. Our Welfare team, through their tireless efforts, played a crucial role in executing the project and its success. Expressing their gratitude, employees thanked them for actively supporting this initiative. Their combined efforts have made a significant difference in the lives of the students at Thambapanni Sinhala Maha Vidyalaya, providing them with newfound hope and a brighter future.
