Senior Business Development Representative – Sri Lanka

We do this by providing comprehensive solutions and IT consultancy to help them maximise their investment and achieve their business objectives.

Role Overview:

The Senior Business Development Representative will deliver key sales support and lead market development for Platned in the UK region. The candidate will be able to exhibit the knowledge and confidence needed to establish Platned as a potential prospect or current customer’s primary Business Solution Supplier.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategically lead business development efforts to identify, qualify, and convert high-value opportunities within the assigned territory, specifically targeting mid to high-level ERP prospects.
  • Own the full lead-to-opportunity lifecycle, with a strong focus on independently managing and closing larger deals, particularly within enterprise accounts.
  • Proactively engage C-level executives and key decision-makers, demonstrating a deep understanding of complex ERP sales cycles and solution alignment.
  • Act as the first point of contact for all new inbound leads, ensuring timely, consultative engagement and qualification.
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with prospects throughout the sales journey, delivering consistent value and insight.
  • Execute high-impact outbound campaigns (calls, emails, and social touches) to generate a qualified pipeline, focusing on accounts capable of contributing to a quarterly sales volume of quarter million or more.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the CRM system (HubSpot), tracking all prospecting activities, communications, and lead progress.
  • Conduct thorough discovery and needs analysis to uncover business challenges and map them to relevant ERP solutions.
  • Collaborate with Sales Managers to transition qualified opportunities, while also retaining the ability to independently close high-value deals.
  • Develop and implement account-specific strategies to deepen engagement and expand potential revenue.
  • Design and execute micro-campaigns within the assigned territory to uncover new pipeline and drive demand.
  • Regularly align with the broader sales team to review target accounts, prioritize opportunities, and refine go-to-market strategies.
  • Provide actionable feedback to internal teams on lead quality, campaign performance, and industry trends to support continuous improvement.
  • Mentor junior BDRs by sharing best practices, supporting onboarding efforts, and enhancing team productivity.
  • Act as a key contributor to sales planning and strategy meetings, offering field-level insights to influence broader business decisions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 3–5+ years of successful experience in business development, inside sales, or enterprise software sales within mid to high-level ERP companies (e.g., IFS, SAP, Oracle, Infor).
  • Proven track record of independently managing and closing ERP deals with quarterly sales contributions of quarter million or more.
  • Strong familiarity with ERP products, customer pain points, and solution-based selling methodologies.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with strong writing and presentation capabilities.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (HubSpot), Microsoft Excel, Word, and standard sales technology stacks.
  • Consultative, strategic thinker with an inquisitive mindset and a customer-centric approach.
